CDA Supports Local Charity This Christmas |
|
Monday, 22 December 2008 00:00 |
|
Each Christmas season, CDA Architects employees vote on a charity to which they can donate. The employees donate individually, and this year CDA matched the total employee donation. The charity chosen this Christmas was Camp Discovery. Camp Discovery is a recreation-therapy program which provides a safe and accepting emotional environment for goal-oriented activities.
The program is for children from preschool through high school ages. They serve children who have emotional/behavioral/mental challenges; disabilities; learning differences; are at-risk; are in gifted and talented programs; have suffered various forms of abuse. The camp operates on over 100 acres of land in Blythewood, with a staff of three. They depend on volunteers to help maintain the camp’s grounds and donations to keep the camp operating. The camp was organized almost 20 years ago and has helped over 8,000 children in that time.
Please take a moment to visit their website at www.campdiscoverysc.org.
