CDA is pleased to announce that its office building, located at 1523 Huger Street, has received LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The building, which CDA shares with Business Carolina, Inc., boasts sustainable features such as:
• a high-efficiency energy envelope
• daylighting – reduces the need for artificial light
• occupancy sensors to control lighting and minimize electric consumption
• a high-efficiency mechanical system
• low-flow plumbing features
• limiting materials used to those found/manufactured within a 500-mile radius
• use of an Energy Star roof
• use of low-VOC materials to improve indoor environmental quality
The certification of this building reaffirms that sustainable design is an integral part of CDA’s mission of service – to its clients, its community and the state.
