Columbia, SC…CDA Architects now qualifies as an Intern Friendly Firm, by standards set forth by the AIA-SC program. Doing so acknowledges our support of our interns and our determination in assisting them to develop into competent design professionals. We recognize the value and contribution our interns make to our firm; by supporting their education and providing opportunities for them to work in all aspects of design – from preliminary design to construction administration – we feel this ensures a more well-rounded individual and one who is ready for a future as a registered professional. Some of the requirements to qualify as an Intern Friendly Firm include providing continuing education opportunities from outside speakers that are AIA-approved and directly relative to the IDP (intern development program) Training Requirements Units, and having an in-house IDP coordinator designated for all interns. Our in-house IDP coordinator reviews the progress of all the interns going through the program.
