Awards: Honorable Mention, ATAS Internationals 1999 Metal Project of the Year Competition
This cable technology firm found the perfect location for their new headquarters at a highly visible major intersection. Unfortunately, the existing building on the site was a windowless factory; nothing about it was right for this company's high tech image. After gutting the interior, CDA solved the problem by replacing the building's original brick exterior with Alucabond metal panels, ribbon windows and chrome accents to create a contemporary appearance that reflects Media One's cutting edge technology and corporate stability.
The new building covers 126,000 square feet, including an indoor parking area, where maintenance trucks are re-supplied. Office spaces covering 75,000 square feet were designed with modular walls, ceilings and furniture pieces that expand and change as the company grows. Raised flooring enables the companys computer connectivity needs. Within its first year in the building, Media One expanded, and found the fluid design adapted perfectly to meet their growing needs.
